Arnstorf, November 2009 – The airport in Vnukovo, Russia is one of the largest in the country and at the beginning of 2010 it is to be expanded through the construction of Terminal A resulting in a total area of 250,000 m2. Lindner has been commissioned to develop a special construction solution for 2,300 m2 of this total area. The order amount is in the region of €500,000. The terminal, as an icon for the advance of Russian architecture, will be opened by the Mayor of Moscow and will captivate visitors with its modern design combined with high quality interior products. At the end of 2007 the experts at Lindner developed a special ceiling construction according to the application based on the ideas of the architect Leonid Borsenkov. As a specialist for unique solutions and unusual orders Lindner was able to provide the products without any competition and impressed the architects.
The internationally operative company made an immediate impact with the client with an example of the ceiling lighting construction. This portrays a suitable solution for the project.
Finally, in April 2009, the order for the ceiling system was received. Subsequently Lindner was able to convince the client of the suitable integrity of the lights in the ceiling system and received a follow-up order.
Ceiling systems and lights from Lindner - a strong combination
Individually designed anodised aluminium ceiling panels with an integrated Torsion Spring System were specially coordinated to the customer’s ideas. For the ceiling system a 2.3 m long light which was specially designed by Lindner was constructed. As well as the demand for large, homogenous illuminated surfaces a very high luminous flux must be achieved with the lighting solution. For these purposes Lindner provides a technically mature special solution tailored to the project. The triangular shape of the ceiling panels continues in the prism-shaped lighting systems. Due to their unusual style the individually manufactured lights catch your eye immediately.
The product’s ease of maintenance is also guaranteed due to the 2-sided opening in the ceiling cavity. The low construction height maximises flexibility as well as transportation possibilities.
The mayor of Moscow, Yuri M. Luzhkov, has given the airport the following clear aim: to create a modern and flourishing transportation hub according to international standards and guidelines. Lindner is on hand to provide dynamic support for this ambitious project.
