In Würzburg, the foundations are being laid for a novel proof-of-concept R&D building. Once complete, the innovative building will be used as the headquarters of the » Bavarian Centre for Applied Energy Research e.V. (ZAE Bayern). Lindner Group is acting as one of the main sponsors of the DEENIF project, which will demonstrate energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources for this innovative new research & development building.

Even during construction, the building will be subjected to scientific experimentation. Utilising novel technologies, ideas and materials, the building is intended to showcase sustainable, energy-efficient construction.
Lindner Group will be contributing the interior work and facade structure, and will also produce and install the cooling systems. As an interiors specialist, Lindner will also work with other companies to implement new product developments during the project, thus ensuring an energy-efficient overall model.

"By 2013, we will not merely have a new research & demonstration building with 1,200 m² of laboratory and technical school space," explains ZAE Bayern Board Chairman Prof. Vladimir Dyakonov. "We will also be working with our industry partners to conduct detailed testing and evaluation of the installed technology and the new, innovative approaches." The energy specialist is keen to use the opportunity to gain real-world data, readings and technical solutions from the project.

Following the opening of the building, the companies involved will also benefit from new insights gained by continuous monitoring, so as to then optimize components if necessary.

Thanks to a resolution passed by the German Bundestag, the futuristic project is receiving both federal and Bavarian state funding. The City of Würzburg is also supporting the project and will include the building in the State Horticultural Festival in 2018.

Lindner Group is looking forward to this interesting project and is confident it will be able to gain new ideas and insights from the work.
