And the winner is … the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center!
"It's beautiful, it's inspiring, it's the clear vision of a singular genius and we thought it was a remarkable piece of work."
Known for his flowing movement, his harmonious link between the exterior and the interior, the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku wins the London Design Museum Award, one of the most prestigious awards of modern architecture.
The building without straight lines, arching wavy up to heaven, is a tribute to post-modern architecture and likewise a portrayal of an eternal cycle.
The Azerbaijan center is a byword for culture and spirit of time. In one building it brings together a library, gallery hall, café, museum and conference hall – assembly point of cultural events such as concerts or exhibitions.
The award is a special pleasure for the Lindner Group, whose products in interior design come repeatedly into use.
