Public´s Favourite at the TURN ON Vienna

As a part of the Austrian architecture festival TURN ON, Lindner GmbH and Pichler & Traupmann Architekten presented the new ÖAMTC Headquarters, which was officially opened on 17 March 2017.

Diverse interesting presentations that cover extraordinary construction projects through a dialogue of architects and executing construction firms - that is the concept behind the TURN ON PARTNER presentation series that took place as a part of the renowned architecture festival at the ORF RadioKulturhaus in Vienna from 9 to 11 March 2017.

Particular interest was given to Harald Mezler-Andelberg of Lindner GmbH and the architect Johann Traupmann of Pichler & Traupmann Architekten. Together, they gave the visitors insight into the new ÖAMTC Headquarters. Lindner, being a specialist for interior fit-out and complex dry construction works, and KAEFER Isoliertechnik took responsibility for the interior fit-out of the multi-functional new construction. This included the execution of ceiling and wall claddings as well as the supply of high-quality flooring systems.

The star-shaped building complex required numerous custom solutions combined with demands on noise and fire protection. This included the cladding of the elevator facilities in the central atrium, whose body is also used as a digital presentation area, with 24,900 kg of moulded steel pipe substructure and 2,790 sqm fire protection claddings in steel construction. The crossing between the staircases and the glazed roof was solved with a high-quality, perforated, three-dimensional plasterboard ceiling. Continuous baffle ceilings as well as acoustically effective corrugated iron ceilings and wall claddings create better room acoustics in this open environment.

The office areas have been improved with NORTEC raised floors, making for better acoustic properties while offering utmost walking comfort. Other office and facility rooms as well as the traffic ways in the atrium saw the installation of LIGNA raised floors, whose floor panels are manufactured from a chipboard base. Both raised floor systems offer sufficient space for technical installations and facilitated maintenance works thanks to individually removable floor elements. In total, the fitting team installed about 12,000 sqm NORTEC and LIGNA raised floors in the ÖAMTC headquarters.
