Brainlab "opens up the future" with the German Chancellor
On Tuesday, 11 July 2017, Brainlab officially inaugurated its company headquarters on the premises of the former airport Munich-Riem. The festivities included an event on the topic "The future is open" with over 200 guests, including the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, as well as Ilse Aigner, Bavaria´s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy. The CEO and founder of Brainlab, Stefan Vilsmeier, gave them a guided tour in the modern facilities of this leading manufacturer of software-based medicine technology.
The new headquarters comprise and area of 24,000 sqm and, thus, adequate space for the 700 international employees. The heartpiece of the facility is the heritage-protected 10-storey airport tower, which houses a library, cafeteria, showcase operating rooms, conference rooms, a roof terrace as well as a lounge with a bar. Open-space architecture and a functually reduced design create an attracitve and communicative working environment.
The new construction of Brainlab saw significant participations of Lindner AG and Lindner Reinraumtechnik GmbH. Lindner AG was contracted with the complete interior fit-out of the complex by the project developers of Wöhr + Bauer. Lindner Reinraumtechnik carried out the planning and design of the showcase operating rooms that are located on the second and third floor of the tower; this saw very close cooperation with Brainlab. As to the fit-out, Lindner produced, supplied and installed all works and products: ceilings, floors, partitions, doors and luminaires, for example in the operating theatres (which came in the varieties Glass, Stainless Steel and HPL), the radio therapy rooms and the conference facilities. The good cooperation between Brainlab and Lindner Reinraumtechnik is manifested in a cooperation contract that enables Lindner to use the new and fully functional showcase operating rooms for presentation purposes and customer visits.
