Lindner Floor Systems – certified Quality, distinguished Sustainability

Lindner started the BAU 2017 with the award ceremonies for two significant certificates: the EPD for LIGNA raised floors and the C2C® in Silver for NORTEC raised floors.

On 17 January 2017, the Director of the Institute for Construction and Environment e.V., Dr. Eckhart Lehmann, handed over another EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) to the Heinrich Büchner, member of the Board of Lindner Group. The award concerned the raised floor system LIGNA. Every production step of LIGNA raised floors underlies particular control of the demanding requirements on energy, materials and quality – from the raw material to the deployable product.

The attention of architects, planners and product developers visiting the BAU was also drawn by the “C2C-Day”, which was initiated by Drees & Sommer and the EPEA Internationale Umweltforschung GmbH. A series of presentations, including one by Cradle to Cradle® pioneer Professor Dr. Michael Braungart, gave an overview of current trends and developments in regard of “Eco-efficiency and circular value creation”. Later on, the first Cradle to Cradle® award ceremony at the BAU took place, during which the newly gained Cradle to Cradle certified™ were handed over.

Receiving the Cradle to Cradle® certificate in Silver for the NORTEC raised floors was a great pleasure for Lindner´s representatives, including board member Heinrich Büchner, Ralph Peckmann (Director of Lindner NORIT GmbH & Co KG), Prof. Josef Steretzeder (Head of Integrated Management Service) and Marcel Gröper (Head of Green Building): „We are proud of this Award, since it does not only reward our team´s work in the last few years, it also confirms Lindner Group´s endeavour and conviction to act sustainably and to create nearly emmision-free products.“ said Heinrich Büchner. As a result, NORTEC the first system flooring that received the Cradle to Cradle® certificate. Furthermore, its Silver classification is a rarety among construction materials.

Lindner also presented other forward-looking topics, such as BIM and Lean Construction Management, and also, of course, an overview of the Group´s broad range of products and custom project solutions for interior fit-out, building hull and insulation technology in the course of a successful participation at the BAU 2017.
