Living among friends – Residential construction in Munich
A total of 130 luxurious flats offers a residential complex in Munich with two 15-storey buildings, designed and built by Allmann Sattler Wappner Architects (Munich). Each of both towers is 53 m high and located in a central position with proximity to the Central Station and adjacent to the recreation park Hirschgarten and the Nymphenburg Park.
The residential complex got its name „FRIENDS“ thanks to the semi-public utilisation concept of roof terraces, a kitchen lounge for cooking together with friends, a fitness area and keeper service.
Specifically for this residential construction project, Lindner developed special wooden doors with intruder protection of resistance class RC3 at a height of 2.5 m and a width of 1.45, successfully tested according to DIN EN 1627. Topics like ‘security‘ and ‘fire protection‘ typically require sophisticated custom solutions when faced with architectural requirements.
Characteristic for those doors are the hidden door hinges, which are flush integrated in the frame despite the extraordinary height. Thanks to the mounting in a wooden circumferential frame, the doors feature a secure multi-point locking mechanism. Additionally, they offer fire protection according to T30 and have smoke protection properties.
Their surfaces can be chosen freely and adjusted to individual needs. With a door leaf thickness of 68 mm, Intruder Protection Doors by Lindner offer high quality from in-house production paired with an optimum of security and freedom of design.
