This Saturday, 13 May 2023, Lindner SE │ Luminaires will celebrate its 30th anniversary. It all began in 1993 with the founding of IWS Lichttechnik in Mettenbach near Landshut.

Numerous successfully completed orders, various individually manufactured special solutions and a multitude of installed lighting solutions in lots of buildings – all of this does not happen overnight, but requires a lot of time, patience and experience. At Lindner Luminaires, this development began on 13 May 1993 when Walter Steinhofer, Bernhard Stadler and Karl Irlbeck founded the former independent luminaire manufacturer IWS Lichttechnik. Until today, high-quality system luminaires for a wide variety of purposes and applications are manufactured at the founding site in Mettenbach near Landshut in Lower Bavaria.

From Partner to Subsidiary

In the following years, the IWS Lichttechnik made its first contacts with the Lindner Group and a close cooperation between the two companies developed: Customised luminaires for Lindner metal ceilings, tested cleanroom luminaires and various special solutions resulted from the good collaboration. In order to make even better use of the synergy potential, IWS Lichttechnik finally became part of the Lindner Group in 2014. Of course, nothing has changed in terms of quality and the services offered – the only difference is that the merger has made it possible to take on even larger projects and the name has changed to Lindner SE│ Luminaires. Customers and suppliers thus benefit from IWS Lichttechnik's wide-ranging expertise in the field of Luminaires and at the same time from the Lindner Group's many years of experience in all facets of the building trade.

Lighting Solutions for High Demands

Since 2017, the Lighting Division of the Lindner Group has been operating as a separate business unit. Thereby, Lindner Luminaires distributes, plans, develops and manufactures high-quality architectural lighting as well as a wide range of functional lighting for clean rooms and other special requirements. These include minimalist system luminaires as well as unique eye-catchers. Project-specific special solutions are also part of the extensive range. Lindner Luminaires handles the entire process from a single source – from consultation and planning to in-house production and subsequent installation.

From Milestone to Milestone

To this day, the luminaire factory is an important part of the Lindner Group: In 30 years of business, the luminaire manufacturer has grown from the original six to almost 40 employees today. Around 4,000 orders have been processed during this time, including renowned projects such as Fraport Pier A-Plus, Deutsche Bank, Kynast-Straße and the Salzufer in Berlin. In these four buildings alone, Lindner installed a total of around 36,500 luminaires – and this is just a small part of a long history with many impressive successes.
