Preparing for Take-off with Lindner
Lindner used the occasion of the Passenger Terminal Expo in Stockholm, the specialist exhibition for the airport business, to present its comprehensive range of products and services for airport construction on a communal booth of the association GATE.
This year, Lindner again took part in the largest international fair and conference about the design, management, security and technology of airport terminals. The Passenger Terminal Expo, which took place in Stockholm from 20 to 22 March, is the meeting place of managing directors, officers of airports and airlines, architects, engineers, important decision-makers, suppliers and buyers from all over the world. They exchange information, gather new ideas and shape the future of the airport business. In 2018, the fair saw further records in its number of visitors, which amounted to 7,300 people from over 100 countries, and its number of exhibitors with over 300 in the 17,000 m² fair building.
Lindner´s booth was integrated into the communal booth of the German airport supplier association GATE. Visitors were presented a mock-up of a new heavy-load hollow floor as well as the sample display case that had already been shown on other fairs such as the Swissbau. This display case, filled with various samples of ceilings, partitions and floors as well as the hollow floor sample coated with the Pandomo surface by Ardex or parquet, respectively, drew quite a number of curious looks. The general trend towards hollow floors instead of conventional screed floors in entire terminals could clearly be sensed, making it probable that it will spread over the borders of Europe. A major advantage of this approach is the flexibility for cables and other installations that can be hidden and adjusted in the floor void. Another advantage is the reduced time before usability in comparison to screed floors, since their moisture first has to be effortfully drained from the surrounding structure. These values were quickly understood by interested visitors.
The recently updated brochure “Terminals and Stations - The Passenger Experience” had a successful premiere at the fair with numerous interested visitors.
Apart from the general flow of visitors towards the conferences, the GATE Happy Hour and the beer of Mariakirchener Schlossbräu drew some well-acquainted faces as well as new contacts towards Lindner´s booth. This easy atmosphere allowed discussions about those many airport projects completed by Lindner, as well as current and future projects.
