Speaking plainly about Lean Construction
Over 300 participants met at the third GLCI conference in Frankfurt on 10th of October 2017 and discussed the development of Lean Construction Methods in the building sector. In cooperation with BMW AG, Lindner AG presented the renovation of the building BMW FIZ 14.5 which is located in Munich.
It occurs quite rarely that clients and building contractors talk frankly about their gained experiences during a project at a joint event. But in order to do just that, the German Lean Construction Institute organised its annual conference in Frankfurt am Main on 10th of October 2017. Among the participants were clients, planners, executing construction companies, general contractors, project managers and consultants as well as participants coming from the areas of science and education. Main topic: The application of Lean Management methods in the building industry or rather the optimisation of building processes by means of Lean Construction.
Once again, Lindner took part with a very interesting talk. Project manager Harald Seidl of Lindner AG and Joachim Klanten, who is the responsible project manager of BMW, presented the project BMW FIZ 14.5 in Munich which was finished due to applying Lean methods. The audience was really interested in the speech. It was a great chance for the Lindner Group to show its expertise in renovation and interior fit-out including technical services. Requests coming from other projects regarding services that include Lean Management prove this.
Further talks also showed that professionalism and qualification regarding the topic Lean on sites as well as in internal business processes increase significantly. Unfortunately, rather big groups like Bosch or BMW appear to have already implemented and applied Lean Construction Management in their building processes.
Next year, the GLCI conference will take place in the Marriott Hotel in Frankfurt am Main on 29th of November 2018.
