Description: | The newly built control centre of Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) is used to control and supervise underground transportation in Berlin. To do so, the building required numerous technical installations to support daily processes. For this reason, the ground floor of the 3-storey building is predominantly occupied by server rooms. The actual control centre is located on the first floor, together with meeting and social areas. Last but not least, the second floor houses offices and training facilities. Lindner was contracted with the supply and installation of NORTEC raised floors in the server rooms. In this way, technical installations can be efficiently stored away in the floor void without influencing maintenance works, thanks to reaccessible floor elements. Furthermore, Lindner fitted the control room and surrounding areas with a Floor and more® hollow floor system, staggered in 3 levels in order to provide a better overview of the room. |
