What is meant by "New Work"?
With the new-work concept, aspects of globalisation and digitalisation are taken up with regard to the design and organisation of workplaces. New Work concepts thus strive for a new way of working in which the concept of work is interpreted differently and priorities are redefined: This is intended to support not only the creativity and productivity of employees, but also the economy and efficient use of space in the company. The new workplaces should be able to adapt to people's needs and thus increase the flexibility of working environments.
The GEFMA Day Bavaria
In a two-track event format, there were numerous specialist presentations on the topic area of "New Work" as well as some presentations from companies such as Steelcase, NEXT fmRobotics or Essentry. In addition, a guided tour of the recently created working worlds of Giesecke+Devrient was offered: In this way, some implementation possibilities of the New Work idea could also be immediately examined in practice. Among the speakers at the 13 specialist presentations at the GEFMA Day were Lindner experts Gregor Kamps and Marcel Gröpler, who gave the audience an understanding of the future of office concepts under the presentation title "New Work ‘Design for Disassembly‘ as one of the key strategies for circular building". The joint lecture was concluded with a lively and intensive discussion, which once again made the relevance of the topic clear.
