The Lindner Group is one of the winners of the Best Managed Companies Award 2026. With this award, the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Deloitte Private, UBS and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung recognise excellently managed medium-sized companies that demonstrate outstanding performance in the areas of strategy, productivity & innovation, culture & commitment, governance & finance. Elisabeth Lindner and Managing Directors Martin Weber and Günther Greil accepted the award on behalf of the Lindner Group on 21 May 2026 at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten in Frankfurt.
Recognised for diversity, consistency and entrepreneurial vision
What makes the Lindner Group unique is the diversity and depth of its product and service range. From façades and building services to all aspects of interior fit-out – Lindner plans, manufactures, installs and supports projects with a range of services throughout all project phases. Added to this are proprietary software products designed to optimise construction and planning processes and simplify day-to-day construction operations. Despite the size of the company – with 8,000 employees, 3,000 construction sites daily and locations in more than 40 countries – Lindner has remained a responsible family-run business that has stayed true to its culture of values, solution-oriented openness and entrepreneurship.
“This award serves as both recognition and motivation for our corporate family to continue steadfastly on our chosen path: we grow where it makes sense to do so, and we respond to the needs and wishes of our customers, as well as to economic and environmental challenges, whilst taking pleasure in developing further every day.” Veronika Lindner, Chair of the Board of Directors, Lindner Group. “We are also particularly pleased that the award ceremony took place at the Palmengarten. A place where one can experience our achievements and expertise first-hand: the restoration of this unique, listed complex was largely carried out by Lindner.”
Acting with foresight out of conviction – not just because it’s trendy
Digitalisation, sustainable practices and sustainable construction are all part of Lindner’s day-to-day operations. The specialist department Lindner Digital has been in existence for over 15 years, and the first product that is 99% recyclable was developed almost 30 years ago. With the circular take-back models LinLoop, a gypsum recycling plant at the Dettelbach site, and numerous products certified to the Cradle to Cradle® standard, Lindner demonstrates that sustainable business practices and economic success go hand in hand.
Lindner’s approach: developing proprietary solutions for specific challenges, such as the lean planning software Metronom, the construction site access app InGo, or its own system for net wage optimisation for employees (Bonos). With the modular edge cloud solution BitHeat, which aims to enhance European sovereignty, Lindner will also be entering the market in 2027 with another in-house development.
However, Lindner also applies this principle in other business areas: alongside its core business, the Lindner Group operates its own hotels (mk | hotels), catering, organic farming (Land.Luft) and a vineyard (Groszer Wein).
Since 1991, the Hans Lindner Foundation has been supporting people in Germany, Romania and Uganda by helping them to help themselves and providing start-up advice.
Recipe for success no. 1: People come first
Our employees are the cornerstone of our success. Every year, Lindner trains around 270 young people across 38 different trades and consistently promotes managers from within the company. The corporate structure, featuring eleven long-serving managing directors who each bear ultimate responsibility for their respective divisions, is arguably unique in the industry. This is further reinforced by the Lindner family’s strong involvement in both management and day-to-day operations. Lindner also places great value on long-standing, trusting partnerships with customers and partners, based on mutual respect.
Award confirms: “We are on the right track”
To win the Best Managed Companies Award, the Lindner Group underwent a very rigorous coaching and selection process and impressed the high-calibre jury comprising representatives from business, academia and the media in all four areas: strategy, productivity and innovation, culture and commitment, and finance and governance. This means they now belong to an international network of excellently managed companies in Germany and in over 45 other countries worldwide.
“Good corporate leadership is of central importance, especially in economically challenging times. The Best Managed Companies Award is a well‑deserved recognition for companies that successfully combine responsibility, foresight, and sustainable action,” says Tobias Vogel, CEO of UBS Europe SE.
