Sustainability

With its new Self-Declaration 5.1, the Lindner Group is taking a significant step towards holistic sustainability throughout the entire product and building life cycle.

For over 10 years, Lindner has been offering self-declarations in accordance with ISO 14021 for various product categories such as ceilings, floors, walls, interior design, timber doors, and façades. Independent of verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), these environmental statements provide detailed information on environmentally and health-relevant product properties and serve as a basis for building certifications such as LEED, DGNB, BNB, and BREEAM. The declarations include data on materials, origin, manufacturing processes, as well as technical aspects such as sound insulation and fire resistance.

ESG and EU Taxonomy: Sustainability in the New Declaration

The latest version of Lindner’s self-declaration (5.1) goes even further: it now also covers ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria and the EU taxonomy, thereby addressing social and governance aspects of sustainability. This provides developers, architects, and planners with the confidence to build more sustainably with Lindner, even at the advisory or tendering stage.

Focus on the Product Life Cycle – from Production to Reuse

As with a classic, verified EPD, the self-declaration also considers the impacts of the products across their entire life cycle. In addition to environmental indicators, the self-declaration also provides comprehensive information on the following topics:

  • Life cycle assessment and carbon footprint over the full life cycle

  • VOC content, quality seals of components, and indoor emission values

  • Recycled content and circularity of the product

  • Credits for building certifications such as DGNB and LEED

  • Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard, including the achieved quality levels and associated measures

New Products with Sustainability Credentials

Self-Declaration 5.1 covers the real wood-veneered calcium sulphate panel FIREwood, used for high-quality interior wall and ceiling cladding with fire protection requirements. These panels offer acoustic optimisation through various perforations and are manufactured in Lindner facilities under the highest sustainability standards. The timber used is sourced from certified partner companies.

In the façade sector, the Lindner Group offers a sustainable solution with the Hybrid Element Façade ECO_N®, combining aluminium and timber. This enables clean material separation and up to 30% CO₂ reduction.

The room-in-room system CAS Rooms uses prefabricated modules made from sustainable materials to create flexible, acoustically optimised spaces. These modules can be individually configured, reassembled as needed, and reused extensively.
