Construct-X is creating a reference architecture for open, federated data spaces within the construction industry. Built on open-source principles and Gaia-X, it connects all relevant systems – including ERP, BIM, product databases and CDE platforms – without dependency on individual providers. Cloud-edge technology enables secure, low-latency data processing directly on site. Digital twins for buildings, products, supply chains and machinery form the technological foundation. At the same time, the project establishes the basis for digital product and material passports to support ESG reporting and CO₂ accounting. The result is reduced coordination effort, fewer planning errors and greater transparency across the entire value chain.
Construct-X creates the technological foundation for a new level of collaboration within the construction industry. Standardised interfaces connect ERP, PIM and BIM systems with on-site construction data, ensuring a consistent and up-to-date flow of information in real time. Material availability, planning statuses and process data remain transparent and accessible at all times, enabling informed decision-making and more efficient workflows. At the same time, the project lays the groundwork for digital product and material passports as well as more resource-efficient construction processes. The result is reduced coordination effort, lower error rates and more efficient delivery of complex construction projects.
