The threat landscape for buildings and facilities has changed: terrorist attacks, criminal activity, vandalism and natural events pose real risks that need to be addressed through appropriate structural security concepts. An explosion releases enormous amounts of energy within a very short period of time. The resulting blast wave can destroy facades, devastate interior spaces and, in the worst case, compromise the structural integrity of a building.
For each building component, Lindner Group determines the individual requirements for blast resistance and develops tailored, standards-compliant solutions designed to effectively minimise fragmentation and the projection of debris. This helps ensure that load-bearing and space-enclosing components remain functional even in the event of an incident.
Our aim is to combine proven protective performance with architectural design freedom and to integrate our systems flexibly into a wide range of building types – creating a secure environment that protects both people and property.
Our portfolio covers all relevant building components:
With purpose-developed product solutions, Lindner Group covers the key building components of floors, ceilings, walls and dry construction – each tested and compliant with applicable standards for blast resistance, burglary resistance and ballistic protection.
When planning facades subject to enhanced blast protection requirements, Lindner takes a product-independent, calculation-based approach. Rather than being tied to a specific facade system, we first determine the project-specific requirements and structurally design the construction accordingly. The required load-bearing capacity determines how the facade construction needs to be designed – comparable to the approach used in structural steelwork. Suitable facade products available on the market can then be selected and implemented in accordance with the structural requirements.
Key principles for effective blast protection:
This is where Lindner's expertise comes in: we do not consider the facade in isolation, but as part of the overall blast protection concept. Where required, we look beyond the requirements of the applicable standards and take into account the actual project-specific requirements for the construction, glazing and protection of people. Thanks to our independence from specific products, we are able to select the most suitable option – both technically and economically – from the full range of materials and systems available on the market.
An effective blast protection concept does not end at the building envelope. Floors, ceilings, walls, doors and dry construction play a central role in protecting against blast waves: they help safeguard the structural integrity of the building, prevent the propagation of blast waves through the building and ensure that escape and rescue routes remain usable even in an emergency.
Load-bearing and space-enclosing components in particular must be designed to reliably maintain their function following exposure to a blast wave. Failure at this point could have consequences far beyond localised damage. With our tested system solutions for floors, ceilings, walls, doors and dry construction, we create a security concept that considers each individual component in conjunction with the building as a whole.
Our blast-resistant systems are used wherever particularly high security requirements apply – for example in embassies and government buildings, banks, courts and public authority buildings, critical infrastructure, data centres, as well as industrial and security facilities with an increased risk profile.
We always consider the building as an integrated system: floors, ceilings, walls, doors, dry construction and facades are planned in coordination with one another to prevent weak points in the overall protection chain. Our solutions can also be combined with additional security functions such as burglary resistance, ballistic protection and fire protection – creating a comprehensive security concept.

Confidentiality that protects
In the field of security-critical construction projects, we apply an especially high standard of protection – one that extends beyond the construction phase itself. Out of consideration for the security of our clients and their properties, we deliberately do not publish project details here. This discretion is part of our security commitment. You can, however, gain an impression of Lindner Group's fit-out quality elsewhere: in our general references, we show the standards, precision and experience with which we realise projects worldwide – the foundation of the trust we earn every day, including in sensitive areas.
