1. The house is also occupied by other families. Please be considerate.The garden and the large property are intended for everyone's use.
    
2. We also kindly request that you refrain from smoking out of consideration for the guests who will follow you in the house.
    
3. As it is a nature reserve, it is strictly prohibited to make an open fire in the garden/forest. However, you are welcome to use the available grill, which you can find downstairs, next to the utility room (around the outside). Please clean it after use.
    
4. Water is supplied from the private well with spring water. It is recommended to boil the water before using it for baby food. After prolonged dry periods or low water levels, it might take some time for the water supply to catch up with consumption. Therefore, please manage your water usage, especially during showers. Water will be available again after approximately four hours.

Dispose of your waste before departure! Waste separation is mandatory!

About 3 km away at the recycling center Obertraun 260 (towards Bad Ischl, over the railway tracks, then immediately right at the fire station), there are two waste containers for our holiday home.

For residual waste, there is a municipal waste bag under the sink in the apartment. This should be disposed of in one of the waste containers upon departure or, if these are already full, placed next to them.

Please dispose of bottles and glass in the containers available at the Obertraun recycling center.

You can dispose of organic waste (no meat scraps, as they attract pests) in the compost in the garden next to the sewage basin. You may aswell dispose of your cold ash from barbecue there. 

Please keep in mind before your departure: The cleaning service will arrive on Friday, your departure day, around 10 a.m. to prepare the house for the next guests. Please vacate the house by 10 a.m. at the latest, to allow enough time for the cleaning.  If you need to leave earlier, please inform the caretaker service. This will allow them more time to manage their workload, as they also attend to the other apartment.

We very much appreciate your support by leaving the residence in a tidy condition.

• Especially the bathroom and kitchen – stove, refrigerator and tableware – should be cleaned. Please empty the refrigerator and waste bins and vacuum clean / sweep the floor.
• Even if it is well-intentioned, please do NOT leave any food or drinks! The cleaning staff is instructed to dispose of all food items. Exceptions: salt, pepper, sugar, and spices.
• Please turn the radiator thermostat to the frost protection symbol *. In summer you can turn it off completely.
• Remember to close all windows.

The municipality of Oberaudorf does a lot for a clean environment and the mountains. For this purpose a tourist tax is levied.

Heating

The gas cylinders are located in the boathouse and are regularly exchanged by the caretaker. Night heating is done using more economical off-peak electricity.

Electrical

The main fuse of the house is located in the utility room on the ground floor. The fuse box for the ground floor apartment is situated in the kitchen, and for the upstairs apartment, it's located in the hallway on the right.

In the boathouse, you will find a plastic rowboat for the two apartments. The Hallstätter Lake is usually very calm, but storms can arise unexpectedly. Therefore, please never leave the boat outside overnight, but tie it up inside the boathouse.
Please do not use the mahogany wood boat. We had it restored at great expense after it was left in very poor condition due to improper handling.

The existing raft can be used only as a bathing island or boat dock!
The Raft is not seaworthy and must remain firmly anchored on the lakebank and must NOT be loosened under any circumstances! 

The "Stefanie" travels daily between Hallstatt Markt and the railway station, on the Ostufer cycle/hiking trail. Getting to your destination by boat is a unique experience, especially for cyclists!

The tiled stoves in the living room and the bay window room can be heated easily. You can find dry wood for the tile stoves in the woodshed on the hill. The armchair stove with an oven in the kitchen cannot be heated.
