1. The house is very clairaudient. Please be considerate of other guests.
    
2. We also kindly request that you refrain from smoking out of consideration for the guests who will follow you in the house.
    
3. On Juist the weather can change very quickly. Therefore, please always close the windows when leaving the house and put the garden chairs next to the wall.
    
4. You will find rain jackets and rubber boots in the hallway. After using, please clean them and put them back into the shelf.
    
5. In the basement you will find a washing machine, a tumble dryer and an ironing board for your usage, as well as seat pads for the garden chairs.
    
6. Please do not clean your souvenirs from the beach (shells, stones, wood, …) in the house, but use the tap in the garden. Repeatedly, the sewer in the house is blocked due to sand.

GLASSES / BOTTLES

Please dispose of glass yourself! Please take the empty glasses, bottles etc. to the appropriate glass containers in Billstraße, towards the village after the mushroom anchor/playground, on the right.

Old Medicine

You need to bring your own towels. The bedding is provided in this vacation home.

If you need extra bedding, please contact the vacation home management in Arnstorf at: Ferienhaus@Lindner-Group.com, Tel. +49 8723 203611. Please do not use the mattress protectors as bed sheets.

Please note before your departure: The cleaning staff will arrive on Friday, your departure day, around 10 a.m. to prepare the house for the next guests. Please ensure that you vacate the house by 10 a.m. at the latest, so there is enough time for them. If you need to leave earlier, please inform the caretaker service. This will allow them more time to manage their workload, as they also attend to the other apartments.

We very much appreciate your support by leaving the residence in a tidy condition.

• Especially the bathroom and kitchen – stove, refrigerator and tableware – should be cleaned. Please empty the refrigerator and waste bins and vacuum clean / sweep the floor.
• Even if it is well-intentioned, please do NOT leave any food or drinks! The cleaning staff is instructed to dispose of all food items. Exceptions: salt, pepper, sugar, and spices.
• Please turn the radiator thermostat to the frost protection symbol *. In summer you can turn it off completely.
• Remember to close all windows.
• Please remove the bedding from the beds.
• Bring the seat pads back into the basement.  

The municipality of Juist does a lot for a clean environment and dune protection and also offers guests a lot, such as spa concerts, beach stays, heated indoor swimming pool, etc. For this purpose, as is customary in spas, a tourist tax is levied. The 'TöwerCard' entitles you and your family to free entry to the various spa facilities.

You will receive your TöwerCard when leaving the ship. Soon after your arrival, please proceed with your round-trip tickets to the Coastal Museum in Loog and pay the tourist tax there.

The municipality of Juist is very strict. You must pay the tourist tax at the tourist information office no later than the departure of your ship.

Heating

The house has a gas heating and every radiator can be adjusted individually by thermostat.

Electricity

The main control switch for the electric circuit you can find in your apartment.

Dear Juist visitor,

every year from spring to autumn there is a rise of tick bites in whole Lower Saxony and also here on Juist.

A tick bite can cause allergies or transmit infectious diseases. In Germany, the infectious diseases caused by ticks are mainly Lyme-Borreliosis and more rarely “Frühsommer-Meningo-Enzephalitis” (FSME) (Early-summer-Meningo-Enzephalitis). According to the finding of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social, Women, Family and Health, until now none of the local communes is an edemic area for FSME.

The ticks often linger in grass, fern, shrub or bushes, which are mainly below 1.50 meters. The animals latch on to passing people and search favorable areas, e.g. hollow of the knee, groin, armpit or the hair line to suck blood.

You can prevent a tick bite by wearing tight and close-fitting clothes with long sleeves and long trouser legs, as well by wearing sturdy shoes. After a walk, you should search your body for ticks. Wearing light fabrics helps to find them more easily.

Usually the danger that Borrelia will be transmitted exists only in a later phase of a tick bite. That is the reason why it is important to remove a tick bite in an early stage. You should grab and pull out an adhered tick very close to your skin either with your fingertips, with tweezers or special tick pincers. Don’t squeeze or crush the tick! When removing a tick it is important to pull out the whole body and the complete head of the animal. Please, refrain from using “homespun remedies” like nail polish, oil or glue!

Up to six weeks after the tick bite there can be a little redness in the area of the bite. If this happens please consult your doctor. In later stages of 

the disease influenzal affliction, damage of nerves, inveterate skin changes or inflammation of the myocardial muscle may occur.
