Sustainable Interior Fit-Out at the Novu Campus

The Novu Campus at Zurich Airport is a forward-looking coworking and community concept. Spanning more than 4,000 m² across three floors, the campus offers modern workspaces, flexible meeting rooms, event areas and community zones – ideal for start-ups, scale-ups and creative networks with teams of up to 80 employees.

At the heart of the interior fit-out brief was a clear ambition: circular construction, resource-efficient materials and CO₂ reduction. The aim was not merely to create functional office spaces, but to realise a sustainable workplace of the future – fully aligned with the principles of the circular economy in interior fit-outs.

Circular Economy with Second-Life Materials

The Lindner Group delivered the fit-out using a carefully considered selection of reused building materials, including second-life solutions for floor and wall design.

For the first time, the RELIFE raised floor was installed – a fully refurbished flooring system. This raised access floor system, made from recycled wood-based panels, was carefully reconditioned at Lindner’s Dettelbach plant after dismantling. The original carpet covering was removed, and the panels were then fitted with integrated moisture and edge protection. The result is a durable, contemporary floor that combines ecological resource efficiency with high-quality design.

Additionally, the dry hollow-floor system FLOOR and more® was installed. This hollow floor provides high stability, is suitable for all types of surfaces, and allows flexible routing of utilities – making it perfect for modern office and coworking concepts.

Second-life solutions and ReUsed products from Lindner were also employed in the spatial layout. The Lindner Life Pure 620 glass partition walls were dismantled by material type from other construction projects and integrated into the new spatial concept of the Novu Campus. Reusing the glass partitions not only reduced waste but also contributed to CO₂ savings – without any compromise in terms of design, acoustics or visual openness.
