The Lindner Group was delighted to receive a distinguished honour at this year’s BVF Symposium in Trier: with its flagship project BiGreen, developed under the BitHeat umbrella brand, the company won the prestigious BVF Award 2025 in the category Innovation.
A meeting point for the future of the industry
The 2025 BVF Symposium, held on 12–13 November at NELL’s Park Hotel in Trier, offered industry professionals an inspiring platform for knowledge exchange and networking. The opening get-together already provided ample opportunity for meaningful conversations and fresh perspectives. Expert presentations and practical insights from the speakers highlighted the importance of current developments and challenges in building technology.
BiGreen: a successful story of innovation
A highlight of the symposium was the presentation of the BVF Award 2025 in the Innovation category by Axel Grimm, Managing Director of BVF e. V. As the winner in this category, the Lindner Group impressed with its BiGreen project (Building Integrated GREen Edge Cloud Native), realised as part of the IPCEI-CIS initiative with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the European Union. This modular edge-cloud computing system harnesses the waste heat generated during data processing to meet heating demands – setting new benchmarks for energy efficiency, digital sovereignty and sustainability.
Digital sovereignty and sustainability: the guiding principles of the Lindner Group
Under the BitHeat brand, the Lindner Group brings together simple, secure and flexible solutions for the construction sector. Following the principle of energy cascading – computing, heat recovery, protection and server cooling – BitHeat makes a tangible contribution to reducing transmission losses, preventing brown-outs and relieving pressure on central power grids. Within the IPCEI-CIS project, the company is therefore establishing new standards in energy efficiency and reaffirming its commitment to a sustainable digital future for Europe. True to the motto “Plug, Play, Place Everywhere”, BiGreen integrates seamlessly into both new and existing building technology. Its successful combination with surface heating systems is based on three key technical synergies:
Through close collaboration with dedicated teams, partners and supporters, the Lindner Group is actively shaping Europe’s digital future.
