As part of its global “Future Retail” programme, BMW comprehensively modernised the Stuttgart-Vaihingen dealership. The aim of the refurbishment was to create a contemporary, consistent appearance that showcases the premium vehicles of the BMW, BMW M and MINI brands to optimum effect.
Covering more than 12,000 m², the site was restructured in five construction phases while operations continued uninterrupted. Precise project planning and efficient processes were essential to ensure day-to-day business ran smoothly while maintaining the highest quality standards in interior fit-out. The result is a modernised showroom that delivers a distinctive brand experience for customers.
The Lindner Group made a significant contribution to the refurbishment with well-conceived spatial solutions. The minimalist full-height glass partition Lindner Life Pure 620 creates visual openness and light-filled spatial structures within the open showroom thanks to its mullion-free glazing – additional curtains provide discretion when desired. Its modular design and flexible connection options allowed the system to be seamlessly integrated into the existing building and precisely adapted to the spatial conditions.
For the Vaihingen project, the Lindner Life Pure 620 was specifically modified. The profiles were given a new design in line with BMW’s design specifications and finished in an elegant champagne and brass tone with a decorative shadow gap. In selected areas, special glazing was also used, including mesh glass with a fine grid structure that deliberately avoids full transparency and provides additional design differentiation.
In the MINI areas, the profiles were executed in white – a clear, brand-specific colour concept that architecturally reinforces the identity of each brand.
In addition, GTB 10 doors with sound insulation were installed, integrating discreetly into the architecture with their frameless design. Whether single- or double-leaf and optionally enhanced with films, screen printing or enamel finishes, the doors offer a wide range of design options while also supporting effective room acoustics. The GST 10 glass sliding door elements provide particularly space-saving yet aesthetically refined solutions. Optionally equipped with enhanced sound insulation, they ensure comfort and tranquillity throughout the showroom.
Lindner Logic 100 Timber timber partition walls lend the exhibition areas a warm, high-quality atmosphere. Thanks to their flexible repositioning options and the ability to combine them with glass, metal or textile elements, a modern, open spatial concept was created that offers both flexibility and individual design freedom.
In addition to the wall systems, the Lindner Group also carried out extensive drywall works and installed LMD-DS 320 metal ceiling panels. For the Stuttgart-Vaihingen and Saarbrücken dealerships, Lindner delivered an integrated package comprising drywall construction, wall systems and metal ceiling panels – a holistic solution that meets both design and functional requirements. Despite tight schedules and short refurbishment periods, all works were completed on time and while operations continued.
Within the Future Retail programme, the Stuttgart-Vaihingen site assumed a special role: it was the first dealership at which Lindner implemented newly developed wall systems specifically for the Next.Gen dealerships. Design and technical development were carried out in close coordination with BMW’s headquarters in Munich. The new design concept is now being rolled out step by step to further dealerships across Germany and Austria.
