The Lindner ECO_N® is the first hybrid façade among our element facades. As a structurally effective component, the timber module – depending on the particular design – contributes to a reduction in CO₂ emissions of 20 to 25% compared with a conventional aluminium element facade without a timber module.
For the manufacture of the Lindner ECO_N®, depending on the aluminium variant, CO₂e values of 131.60 kg CO₂e/m² were achieved with Hydro REDUXA® aluminium. A standard aluminium façade, by comparison, comes in at 175.96 kg CO₂e/m². The ECO_N figures are derived from the life cycle assessment in accordance with DIN EN 14067 and ISO 14025 (dated December 2024).
In addition to material savings, the system is designed for disassembly and material separation: the materials used are employed as single-material components and joined mechanically. At the end of their service life, they can be separated and directed towards suitable reuse or recovery.

Within the Lindner ECO_N®, the timber module performs a load-bearing function and is an integral part of the facade construction. The design makes targeted use of the specific properties of timber and aluminium: while water-carrying and moisture-exposed areas lie entirely within the aluminium plane, the timber is protected within the dry zone. This constructional timber protection promotes the durability of the system.
Various PEFC-certified timber species are available for design purposes, including spruce, fir, larch, Douglas fir and oak.
The facade construction is designed for straightforward disassembly. Mechanical connections allow individual components to be separated from one another at the end of their service life and channelled into the relevant material streams. This creates the conditions for reuse, recycling or other forms of recovery. Which form of recovery is actually feasible depends on the specific project conditions and the recycling processes available.
For building certifications such as DGNB, LEED or BREEAM, the required product and environmental data can be provided on a project-specific basis. Eligibility for credits depends on the particular certification scheme and the specific building design.
The Lindner ECO_N® is based on the proven system technology of the Lindner ECO® aluminium facade. Clearly defined sealing and functional layers, together with a cascading drainage system, support the long-term reliable performance of the curtain wall façade. The patented PA pressure batten further improves the thermal properties of the system. The achievable performance values are verified on a project-specific basis, depending on the particular facade build-up.
Only non-combustible materials are used in the area of the slab connection. The structural connection of the facade elements to the building envelope is achieved without any direct fire load.
The combination of timber and aluminium opens up versatile design possibilities. Inside, the visible timber surface creates a natural, high-quality atmosphere. The facade is available with either an 80 mm wide timber-aluminium sightline or a 100 mm wide solid-timber sightline.
On the exterior, the sightline width remains consistently 80 mm throughout. This allows the hybrid façade to be seamlessly combined with the Lindner ECO® aluminium system. Different functional requirements – for example in occupied spaces and wet rooms – can thus be realised within a single project with a uniform facade appearance.
