The expansion of pharmaceutical company Daiichi Sankyo’s production site continues. In Pfaffenhofen – one of the company’s largest global production and development sites – Daiichi Sankyo is increasing its worldwide capacity for manufacturing cancer treatments.
As part of the expansion of the fill & finish production area, the cleanroom infrastructure was further developed to meet the growing requirements of modern pharmaceutical manufacturing.
As part of the cleanroom expansion, Lindner Cleanroom Technology was responsible for the supply and installation of the cleanroom systems in Building F4, Level 4.
Both single- and double-skin Multiclean CPH cleanroom partition systems were installed. Designed specifically for GMP-regulated environments, these systems ensure high levels of hygiene, durability and flexibility in pharmaceutical production areas.
The cleanroom partitions were complemented by the Swing F MPH tube-frame door system, which was specifically designed for hygienically sensitive production areas. The doors feature robust, easy-to-clean surfaces and were partially equipped with integrated blackout roller blinds. In addition, the system allows integration into complex airlock and access control systems – an essential requirement for controlled material and personnel flows within cleanroom environments.
For the cleanroom ceiling, the walk-on system Line 80S Type 2 was installed. In addition to large suspension spans and concealed service routing, the system offers a highly load-bearing walkable surface. This enables efficient maintenance and servicing of building services and process technology above the cleanroom area without interfering with ongoing production processes.
To ensure uniform and process-reliable illumination within the cleanroom areas, several cleanroom lighting systems were integrated. LP cleanroom luminaires with switchable white and yellow light functions were installed, allowing flexible adaptation to different production requirements. The lighting concept was complemented by RP LED recessed downlights and DL LED cleanroom luminaires, ensuring homogeneous and energy-efficient illumination throughout the production environment.
To ensure the required cleanroom classifications, Lindner integrated high-performance Filter Fan Units equipped with HEPA filters. These systems provide a reliable supply of clean air and support stable airflow and pressure conditions.
The cleanroom installation was completed with additional functional components. These include ventilation housings integrated into the ceiling construction, SafeChange exhaust housings designed to meet the highest safety standards when handling sensitive substances, and rapid roll-up doors to optimise internal logistics processes.
Material pass-through cabinets were also installed to ensure secure material transfers between cleanroom areas. Stainless steel wall protection systems safeguard the cleanroom walls during daily operations. Ceiling-integrated HEPA filter housings complete the cleanroom concept and ensure reliable air filtration.
