Expansion of Kirchheim Gymnasium

By 2026, a new standalone extension of the Kirchheim Gymnasium will be completed, seamlessly integrating into the adjacent town park. Featuring a distinctive stacked timber design, the building combines clear architectural lines with open, organic interior spaces. Key communal areas such as the auditorium, foyer, and cafeteria foster interaction and a strong sense of community. Flexible classroom layouts and a dedicated STEM wing (MINT in German: Mathematics, IT, Natural Sciences, Technology) promote modern, interdisciplinary learning.
The new extension is directly connected to the gym and sports field via a covered walkway. A striking architectural highlight of the project is the set of seven sculptural steel staircases, designed in a round-trapezoidal shape with alternating concave and convex treads—blending functionality with iconic design.

High-End Interior Fit-Out and Timber Construction by Lindner SE | Objektdesign

Lindner SE | Objektdesign played a key role in the high-quality interior construction of the Kirchheim school extension. One of the most technically and aesthetically sophisticated elements was the custom-designed elliptical facade structure on the first floor. In addition, Lindner was responsible for all timber construction throughout the building—excluding the built-in core furniture on the upper floors.
The fit-out included custom-built furniture, Lindner doors, ceiling claddings, and installed timber slats. These elements were integrated across a wide range of spaces including the auditorium, gymnasium, teachers' lounge, foyer, administration office, and classrooms. All installation work was carried out by the experienced Lindner Montage + Service Team, ensuring precision and contributing significantly to the architectural quality of the project. The result is an interior fit-out that harmonizes functionality, premium materials, and contemporary design standards.
