Repurposing of Hall and Conference Area at the Marienheim Foundation, Stuttgart

For more than a century, the Marienheim Foundation has provided a home for young women in training, higher education, or continuing studies, currently offering 108 residential units. In 2023, this long-established institution took an important step towards the future: the former meeting and conference rooms on the ground floor were transformed into modern office and administration spaces – tailored precisely to the current requirements of management and advisory work.

Particular attention was paid to handling the listed building with care. With considerate, reversible interventions, a flexible working environment was created that harmoniously combines historic atmosphere with contemporary functionality.

Flexible space solutions for modern working environments

A central design element is the modular room-in-room system by the Lindner Group. As part of the spatial concept, CAS Rooms Modular structure open areas into clearly defined working environments, offering both generous open-plan zones and sound-insulated private offices, along with meeting rooms of varying sizes. Each CAS Room was individually designed and equipped for the foundation. Integrated lighting and ventilation systems ensure a pleasant working climate in all modules.

Acoustics and design of the highest standard

The acoustically optimised CAS Rooms Modular guarantee both confidential conversations and focused work, even in direct proximity to open-plan areas. Glazed surfaces enhance transparency, while flush-mounted doors and precise detailing support acoustic performance. Matt finishes, finely balanced colour contrasts, and seamlessly integrated LED strips create a premium appearance.

Despite the functional restructuring, the original spaciousness of the hall remains perceptible. As the mobile modules were installed without any intervention in the walls or ceilings, the historic fabric has been preserved – and the CAS Rooms can be dismantled at any time.
