One of Europe's largest software companies has expanded its headquarters in Garching near Munich to include a 19,000 m² building with offices, meeting rooms and research facilities. The Lindner Group played a key role in the fit-out of the office space.

Developing and Researching Together

The Lab Campus Munich is designed to create an inspiring and flexible working environment for more than 800 employees. The software group's aim is to foster innovation and exploit synergies between teams and with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and its research campus in Garching. A ground floor largely open to the public with a café and experience centre, as well as an interactive exhibition area, underline the university character of the building complex.

Partitions for Separation, Acoustics and Fire protection

The use of state-of-the-art design principles ultimately resulted in a functional and future-proof building designed to international sustainability standards with the aim of achieving LEED Gold certification. The Lindner Group played a key role in this by installing bespoke glass and timber partitions in the office areas. These provide local employees with the necessary separation in otherwise open-plan work areas and also improve the room acoustics. Matching aluminium tubular frame doors add to the modern character of the interiors.

In order to meet the strict fire regulations, some Lindner Life Fire glass walls have been designed with an F90 fire rating. The continuous glass wall system creates open, light-filled spaces while providing the necessary safety in the event of a fire. The light atmosphere is enhanced by the use of local materials for the profiles, doors and other wall finishes.

Lindner Services in the Lab of the Future

Many other services complete the Lindner Group's contract for the Munich Lab Campus: For example, various drywall walls and ceilings were installed in the building complex, followed by 10,000 m2 of FLOOR and more® hollow floor systems. The dry hollow floor is the perfect solution for the office environment as it is both extremely effective acoustically and non-combustible, providing additional safety in the event of a fire. LinCrete, the company's own glass fibre concrete, was also used to create seating steps and stairs in the open areas, inviting people to linger and chat. The modern character of the building is emphasised by Lindner's LMD-St 213 and LMD-St 214 expanded metal ceilings. Lindner's range of services is rounded off by steel and metal construction as well as tiling, painting and plastering.
