At the MediaMarktSaturn campus in Ingolstadt, the six-storey office building was adapted to meet new spatial requirements. Before the actual refurbishment works could begin, however, the building first had to be prepared for the upcoming measures. In doing so, MediaMarktSaturn opted for a responsible yet economical approach to the existing materials and commissioned the Lindner Group to carry out the selective dismantling of the existing system solutions.
Circular Economy in Construction
For Lindner, this meant professionally dismantling the products installed throughout the building within a short timeframe and clearing the areas for refurbishment – without prematurely disposing of the materials. After all, even when the intended use of a space changes, the service life of many system products is far from over.
Rather than disposal, the focus was therefore placed on reuse. Easily relocatable partition wall studs, profiles and additional system components were carefully dismantled, transported to Arnstorf and stored there. In line with circular economy principles, the products and resources are managed according to defined reuse and recovery processes and can be reintegrated into future projects.
Flexible for New Requirements
A key aspect is that the dismantled elements are not only reused, but can also be specifically adapted for new usage scenarios when required, depending on their condition and intended application. This ensures that the “ReUsed” products continue to meet both technical and aesthetic requirements without significant compromises in quality.
The use of ReUse products also helps reduce waste and emissions through optimised planning and material concepts. Especially against the backdrop of increasing raw material shortages and growing demands for sustainable construction, circular approaches such as dismantling, refurbishment and reuse are becoming increasingly important.
With the dismantling and reuse of Lindner system products at the MediaMarktSaturn campus, the Lindner Group is contributing to the circular economy and demonstrating how resource-efficient solutions can already be successfully implemented today.
