The AIDAstella, part of the modified Sphinx class from AIDA Cruises, combines state-of-the-art ship technology with premium passenger comfort. Measuring 253 meters in length and 32 meters in width, it sails the world’s oceans alongside its sister ships AIDAmar, AIDAsol, and AIDAblu, delivered between 2010 and 2013. For the ship’s interior fit-out, MEYER WERFT relied on the expertise of the Lindner Group, a leader in high-quality cruise ship interiors.
Lindner was responsible for the complete interior ship fit-out of the Markt Restaurant on Deck 9 and the AIDA Bar and Lounge on Deck 10, providing all services from planning and production to installation. The scope of work included wall and ceiling claddings in diverse designs, premium flooring, column coverings, lightweight and custom-built furniture, upholstered seating, B15 fire-rated doors, and inspection hatches. Every element was designed and crafted to meet the highest standards of precision, durability, and style.
In the bar areas, Lindner implemented a variety of ceiling systems, including plaster, lightweight construction, and metal ceilings, while the restaurant featured metal ceilings, tile claddings, and plaster finishes. Many components, from furniture to wall and ceiling elements, were manufactured as custom-made solutions in Lindner’s own production facilities. This approach ensured perfect fit, functional design, and a sophisticated onboard aesthetic.
A key highlight of the project was the use of COMPlacq aluminum lightweight panels, renowned for their low weight, high stability, and corrosion resistance – ideal for cruise ship interiors. Combined with custom furniture and precisely engineered interior components, Lindner created interiors that are functional, long-lasting, and visually appealing, meeting the rigorous demands of maritime environments.
