The AIDAblu, one of the cruise ships of AIDA Cruises’ modified Sphinx class, was built at MEYER WERFT and represents modern ship technology and premium passenger comfort. Between 2010 and 2013, a total of four ships of this class were delivered, including the AIDAsol, AIDAmar, and AIDAstella.
For the turnkey interior outfitting of the AIDAblu, MEYER WERFT relied on the extensive experience and reliability of the Lindner Group. Lindner was responsible for the complete ship fit-out of the Market Restaurant on Deck 9 as well as the AIDA Bar and AIDA Lounge on Deck 10, providing all services from a single source.
The scope of work included wall and ceiling cladding in various designs, high-quality flooring, column coverings, built-in furniture, custom and upholstered furniture, B15 fire-rated doors, and inspection hatches. Numerous custom-made elements were specifically developed for this project and produced in-house. In the bar areas, Lindner installed different ceiling systems, including plaster stucco ceilings, lightweight ceilings, and metal ceilings, while the restaurant areas featured metal ceilings, tile cladding, and plaster finishes.
A key aspect of the project was the use of Lindner products such as the COMP+ aluminum lightweight panel. Its low weight, high stability, and corrosion resistance make it ideal for shipbuilding. Custom-made elements and furniture produced in-house ensured maximum precision and design quality.
The interior outfitting of the AIDAblu highlights Lindner’s maritime expertise: premium materials, precise execution, and functional design. The result is an interior that combines aesthetics, durability, and compliance with the strict requirements on board – providing first-class comfort at sea.
