The renovation of the historic gatehouse in Hausham, near Miesbach in Upper Bavaria, has produced an exceptional ensemble that unites heritage with modern concepts of use. Built in 1869, the building once served as the entrance and washhouse of the Hausham mine.
Today, the ground floor is home to a modern veterinary clinic, the upper floor contains flexible co-working spaces operated by office manufaktur, and the newly created penthouse offers high-quality apartments for overnight guests. The aim of the project was to preserve the historic fabric in its entirety while integrating contemporary uses.
A central aspect of the refurbishment was the design of the office manufaktur co-working area. To create a pleasant working atmosphere, the Lindner Group installed Plafotherm® DS 320 heated and chilled canopy ceilings, which integrate seamlessly into the open spatial layout while meeting the highest functional requirements.
The canopy ceiling combines radiant and convective heat to produce an even, comfortable indoor climate. Thanks to the variable arrangement of thermally active and passive areas, the temperature can be adapted to different usage situations and individual needs.
At the same time, the free placement of the canopies allows for a customised ceiling design as well as the straightforward integration of lighting between the individual elements. The perforated ceiling canopies also improve the room’s acoustics, creating optimal conditions for focused work within the office manufaktur’s open-plan environment.
