The Icon of the Seas is the flagship of the Royal Caribbean Group and a masterpiece of modern cruise ship engineering. With an impressive length of 365 metres and a beam of 48.47 metres, the biggest cruise ship in the world boasts a gross tonnage of 250,800 and accommodates up to 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew members. One of the ship’s highlights is the ice skating arena "Absolute Zero," the largest of its kind within the Royal Caribbean Group, designed to captivate families of all ages.
The Lindner Group was responsible for the complete construction of the ice rink, providing a wide range of products and services to create an impressive experience.
Stretch metal ceilings with integrated lighting not only offer an aesthetically pleasing appearance but also excellent acoustics. The ceilings are lightweight yet robust, making them ideal for areas where weight and stability are crucial. COMP+ wall and ceiling cladding was also used, combining durability and elegance. These special claddings are non-combustible, sound-absorbing, and resistant to moisture, making them particularly suitable for maritime environments. Lindner's wall coverings were adorned with a custom-developed graphic and printed using an in-house printer, transforming the ice rink into a visual highlight.
In addition to bespoke seating and high-quality flooring systems, the Lindner Group’s service portfolio also included technical ship outfitting –from the installation of electrical systems and piping to ventilation systems.
Thanks to these extensive and meticulous efforts, the "Absolute Zero" ice skating arena now stands as one of the most spectacular entertainment offerings on the Icon of the Seas.
