Kaunas Athletics Centre

The Kaunas Athletics Centre in the Žaliakalnis district of Kaunas, Lithuania, is a forward-looking development within the expanding Ąžuolynas sports and leisure complex. With a total area of over 15,000 m², the facility provides ideal training conditions for both professional and emerging athletes. In addition to modern running tracks, jumping and throwing zones, the centre includes fitness rooms, recovery areas, meeting spaces and a cafeteria – all combined in a highly functional and architecturally sophisticated sports arena.

High-quality interior fit-out solutions

In the main sports hall, custom metal ceilings with ARTline decorative powder coating in a warm timber look were used. ARTline powder coatings not only offer a high-quality, design-oriented aesthetic, but also meet the highest requirements for UV resistance and durability against solvents and chemicals – ideal for heavily frequented training and recreation areas.

These ceiling solutions are complemented by acoustic wall claddings in real wood veneer, which provide excellent sound absorption. Especially in an arena where intensive sporting activity takes place, these wall coverings create a pleasant acoustic environment for athletes, coaches and visitors. The combination of natural timber aesthetics and functional acoustics makes a significant contribution to the sense of comfort throughout the building.
