Our construction site

After around four years of construction, SMS group has completed its new, state-of-the-art company headquarters in Mönchengladbach – an innovative hub for technology, services and digitalisation. he site impresses not only with its architectural design, but also enhances internal collaboration across the entire value chain. Five ring-shaped building modules provide approximately 1,500 flexible workspaces across 44,000 m², including open co-working areas and enclosed think tanks.

Bespoke Fit-Out Concepts for Modern Work Environments

The Lindner Group carried out the bespoke interior fit-out, including the acoustically efficient and fire-tested Lindner Life Stereo 125 glazed partition wall. This was complemented by elegant wall claddings such as the COMPlacq aluminium lightweight panel with custom digital printing, and the non-combustible FIREwood real wood veneer. In research areas, Planum Type 1 dry glazing was also installed to meet stringent hygiene, fire protection and sound absorption requirements.

Door systems such as the ATB 42 aluminium framed door and the GTB 100 glass door stand out with high acoustic insulation performance and a modern appearance. These were supplemented with classic timber-framed and wooden doors, as well as sliding doors.

High-Performance Interior Construction

The NORTEC raised floor system was used to create a durable, fire-rated solution made from non-combustible calcium sulphate – certified Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver. Additionally, the FLOOR and more® dry hollow floor, also awarded C2C Certified® Silver, was installed at the SMS Campus. It is characterised by high load-bearing capacity, rapid installation, and a seamless surface finish. This was complemented by the CAVOPEX hollow floor with a flowing screed top layer, which enables optimal use of the floor cavity thanks to wide support spacing.

The interior fit-out was completed with the LMD-E 312 metal ceiling system, which combines functionality and design into an elegant, acoustically effective solution.

Flexibility Through Innovative Room Solutions

Flexible working zones are supported by modular room-in-room systems such as Lindner Cube duo and FLEXshell, which allow for both self-contained retreat spaces for focused work and open meeting areas. Both systems include integrated lighting and climate control, can be repositioned with ease, and support a dynamic working environment that can be adapted at any time to meet changing needs.

Lean Construction for Maximum Efficiency

Thanks to Lean Construction Management and Lindner’s proprietary “Metronom” software, the project was implemented efficiently and on schedule – with clearly visualised processes and continuous quality assurance.
