Description

Project: Vienna University of Economics and Business
Description:

The state-of-the-art campus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business was built between Exhibition, Prater and Trotting Course in just 4 years and covers an area of 90,000 m². The university consists of 6 building complexes, which can be divided into the Library and Learning Center in the center of the campus, the Executive Academy in the west and the Departments 1 to 4, where work and study placesabout 1,500 employees and about 25,000 students were created work and study places , On campus there are also numerous offers such as bakeries, sports centers, gastronomy etc.

Lindner carried out extensive and demanding drywall work in all buildings. Together, almost 69,000 m² of plasterboard walls and ceilings were installed, including round corner molding formations as well as inclined plasterboard walls, some with glass elements, presenting particular challenges. In the ceiling area, the special feature was above all the multifunctional drywall special fire protection ceilings, which have a load-bearing capacity of 85 kg / m² and provide space for technology, smoke extraction etc. in the ceiling cavities. The system floors of Lindner offered the ideal solution to meet the high demands on sound insulation with the help of the acoustic double floors, thereby significantly improving speech intelligibility and, on the other hand, allowing hollow floors to accommodate many installation lines. Due to the step structure, the advantageous hollow floor system FLOOR and more® arena was used in many rooms, as the substructure can be mounted on both level, sloping or already stepped concrete floors. In addition, large areas are designed as pressure floors, which serve the air flow. A total of 44,800 m² of raised and hollow floors were thus realized. The carpeting and parquet floors used to complete the overall picture and also provide visual comfort. With its 2,200 m² glass partitions, Lindner provided an optimal solution for spatial separation in order to achieve efficient use of space and at the same time to create transparent rooms. In conjunction with the architecture, Lindner made a significant contribution to a modern learning environment at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
