This air recirculation unit has been specially developed for use in clean rooms. The relatively small external dimensions of the device favour installation in existing buildings. Depending on the application and according to previous GMP planning, the device can achieve GMP class "B" or 6.0 according to ISO 14644-1. An EC-controlled, extremely quiet centrifugal fan is used for air circulation. This sucks in the air via a lint filter located near the floor and pushes it back into the room via a HEPA filter and a special louvre grille. On the suction side of the fan, air-conditioned supply air can be added if necessary. The domestic air conditioning system does not require a HEPA filter either in the unit or in the sewer system. In special applications it is possible to suck in pre-filtered air from adjacent rooms. In this way, pressure cascades and supply air can be realized without air conditioning. Behind the orifice plate, which can be opened without tools, access for maintenance purposes on the HEPA/ULPA filters, aerosol feed nozzles and pressure measuring sockets is easily possible. The service life of the filter depends on the process and the personnel’s clothing and is usually about 5 years. The professional installation of the unit requires an even and load-bearing floor area.
