arabeska - Training and Conference Centre

With the completion of the new construction 'arabeska' in 2015, Munich´s HVB-Tower acquired an unusual new neighbour. Following a construction period of of three years, this multi-purpose building now features flowing shapes, light-flooded liberality and ornamentations of Arabian architecture, which lend the building its name. The facility consists of a main building and an adjoining structure. The ground floor of the main building is composed of a large-scale central atrium surrounded by event and conference areas and a restaurant. The upper floors are designed for housing office spaces. As to the adjoining structure, a training and conference centre has been established in these premises.
This Training and Conference Centre is run by Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte (BSH), a major manufacturer of household appliances. In order to ensure optimal presentation of the exhibited products, including the latest models of the brands Bosch, Siemens, Neff and Poggenpohl,  the ambience is generally noble, with warm colours and fine natural materials. The Centre serves multiple purposes: it is a showroom for products of BSH while it also provides a perfect environment for trainings, conferences and cookery courses.
Following the high-quality general appearance, these areas have been fitted with large-format ceramic floor tiles in the dimensions 1.2m x 1.2m. The tiles were laid by Lindner using the innovative DryMode laying technique. Since this technique does not require primers nor adhesives, the tiles can be laid considerably faster and with less pollution. Another advantage of this method, which was also a decisive criteria for the choice of DryMode, is that deconstruction of the system can be done without damaging the underlying building substance. The project-specific substructure of the tiles consists of NORTEC raised floors.
