Scandinavian architecture has a special connection to wood: not only furniture and accessories, but also floors, façades or entire house structures made of the material give simple Scandinavian design its cosy, natural look. This is perfectly displayed by two Lindner building projects in Sweden: The Lindner raised floor systems there are fitted with WOODline, a parquet flooring from Lindner’s own production.

Raised Floor NORTEC for KV Princeton, Stockholm

The KV Princeton office building combines healthcare, research, education and business. It is located in the inner-city district of Hagastaden in Stockholm, which is one of Sweden's largest urban development projects and is to become a world-leading knowledge centre for life science research. With its 11 above-ground and 2 below-ground floors, KV Princeton provides 1,700 new jobs and has been awarded "Miljöbyggnad Silver" by the Swedish Green Building Council and BREEAM Very Good. Lindner produced, supplied and installed 18,000 m² of NORTEC raised floor: underneath the high-performance floor panels, which are supported by height-adjustable metal pedestals, cable routes are hidden. WOODline was factory-applied to 12,000 m² therefrom. The parquet top layers are finished in smoked oak: The smoking process provides the wood with a dark, warm hue reminiscent of mocha.

NCC Headquarters – Wooden Interior Design

For the new headquarters of NCC in the district Solna in Stockholm, 25,000 m² of NORTEC raised floor were produced and subsequently delivered and installed. Of these, 4,000 m² are fitted with WOODline: The natural oak of the parquet flooring complements the interior design of the NCC headquarters, which consists of different light wood species. Plenty of daylight and a stair sculpture made of solid wood characterise the building's interior. The flexible office building offers 800 workplaces and focuses on a healthy lifestyle for all building users. Therefore, it even achieved the certification BREEAM Excellent.

WOODline – Parquet Flooring, Boarded Parquet Flooring and Finished Parquet Planks

The WOODline elements are manufactured from solid wood at Lindner's own production facilities. Various designs and wood species are available. The surface is sealed with either a coating or oil. For application to Lindner raised floor panels, a colour-matching edge protection is run right up to the panel edge to provide optimum protection.

While maintaining the same appearance, boarded parquet elements allow the combination of Lindner flooring systems with conventional screed and dry screed surfaces.

Finished parquet planks round off the portfolio for high-quality interior fit-out.
